We believe that good quality supervision should be available to everyone. At The Supervision Collective we are committed to supporting individuals in navigating life's challenges with compassion and proven strategies for growth.

We aim to make space to pause and reflect on the impact of the work upon you, your teams, and the wider organisation.

Together, we will support you to get to a place where you feel able to thrive.

Our Approach

The Supervision Collective is dedicated to helping you get to a place where you are able to thrive. We do this by fostering reflective practice, giving time and space to stop and think about the work and the impact it has upon you professionally and personally, promoting kindness in professional settings, and freeing you up to gain different perspectives through good quality supervision. Our focus is on guiding individuals through challenges, uncovering their strengths, and empowering positive transformations. Whilst we specialize in clinical supervision, we believe that supervision is essential for everyone, not just those in direct clinical roles.

The supervision we offer draws on a range of different models and approaches, and will be individualised to your requirements. You might want ongoing individual or group supervision focusing on the work, or maybe you would like a reflective space for personal development, we will work with you to create something that best meets your needs. We all have extensive experience working clinically and therapeutically using different theoretical models, but we have also all received specialist training in both group and individual supervision.

Our Process

We recommend starting with an initial Consultation Session. These sessions create a reflective space to allow you to focus on a specific idea, challenge or goal. They can be used to lay the foundations for personalised supervision or they may be used as stand alone sessions.

Following consultation we can offer Individual Supervision at a frequency to suit your needs. We are also able to offer Group Supervision when available if this is something that you would prefer. Both individual and group approaches offer unique benefits. In group supervision participants can share experiences, gain diverse perspectives, and foster a sense of community. The collaborative environment encourages open dialogue and the exchange of ideas which can enhance learning. On the other hand, individual supervision provides a more personalised approach, allowing for tailored feedback and in-depth exploration of specific challenges. Both methods can be effective, and the choice often depends on individual needs and preferences.

If you have had a consultation with us we can also offer follow up Pause Sessions. These one-off sessions are designed to give you the opportunity for reflective and supportive thinking space. They provide dedicated time to assess your journey, celebrate achievements, and identify areas for further development or change. Pause Sessions will help you to move forward with clarity and purpose.

Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant and he got it. The pay was really good and so was the work condition. For those reasons, the woodcutter was determined to do his best.

His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he supposed to work.

The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees.“ Congratulations,” the boss said. “Go on that way!

Very motivated by the boss words, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring 15 trees.

The third day he tried even harder, but he could only bring 10 trees.

Day after day he was bringing less and fewer trees.“I must be losing my strength”, the woodcutter thought.

He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.

“When was the last time you sharpened your axe?” the boss asked.

“Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees…”
